Why yet another tarot site?

I was super unsatisfied with the free options online. In order of importance:

• I'm going to get slightly technical, but ALL the sites I've found let you "pick" a card simply by clicking on a button, and the card appears. What's happening inside is that the site is generating a random card number, and giving you that card: but where's the agency in that? Part of the charm, at least for me, is the fact that with IRL tarot you choose the card that's calling you the most, so you have some agency in the result. For this reason, I've remade my own tarot reader, where the covered card you see are actually already a true card, the shuffling animation is a true shuffling with the actual cards moving around, and when you click on the card the site simply "removes" the backside image, revealing the card beneath.
• I like my readings to include reverse and upright cards. Apparently, the online sites only do upright. :/
• Silly last reason, but I don't like the traditional Tarot illustrations! Give me pretty and powerful women, please!

Short answer: yes, but please read the long answer.

Long answer: yes.

I dislike the original tarot illustrations. I want to slowly make the illustration myself, but my health ain't healthing and in the meantime I can use these AI illustrations to still convey the vibe I want. I was not going to commission 22 illustrations for the placeholders - wish I had the money for that! - so no artist lost my money. I am also not making any money from these illustrations, nor did I give money to any company to obtain them.

I study computer science, I have a personal passion for the application of ethics in my field, and I am a strong believer in fighting for regulations. But banning the technology as a whole can't work, considering many models are open source and already self-hostable. Instead, let's fight for an ethical use of it, where we demand consent and actually enforce it; stop profiting from others' work, and also allow for the flow of knowledge to reach everyone. We can chat about it on discord if you want; or leave a message on the guestbook! But please, whatever your opinion, always remember to be kind.

Those are called Nudibranchs, which are a sea slug. I highly recommend this beautiful documentary on them, which will give you priceless information on them - such as, their dicks fall off occasionally.
